Here is a special Rickard Dobson banjo that features a goat skin head. When matched with the 12" rim and Dobson tone ring you get a very deep, old time tone. Very cool!
The Rickard Dobson banjo model features a three piece laminate maple neck with two way adjustable truss rod, 12-inch diameter 1/2 inch thick maple rim with ebony rim cap, Dobson Tone Ring, 25.5 scale ebony fretboard, dots with star inlay, and S frailing scoop.
Hardshell case included. 5th spikes at frets 7, 9, and 10 included.
Rickard Dobson , Great Quality Banjo
Very happy with my Rickard Dobson. Excellent quality, and attention to detail. Great sound and very loud. I was impressed with the notches used on the rim to keep the brackets in place. I also like the way they used ebony on the fret board and rim accent . I have a Pisgah also, I cant see much difference between the two I have. This is the 2nd Banjo purchased for Banjo Studio, they have been great to work with and very good prices.

Sweet Banjo, beautifully crafted
I really am enjoying this Dobson tone ring open back 5-string. It has a deep mellow, sustained sound, combined with the volume normally only heard with a resonator backed banjo. I have several open-backed models (Deering, Epiphone, Bart Reiter) and a Deering Sierra ... but this is fast becoming my “go to” banjo due to sound, action (5/8 bridge added by Rickard), vintage look and light weight!
