The Deering Goodtime Americana features a 12" diameter rim, providing more bass and a fuller, rounded sound compared to the standard 11". Especially useful for playing clawhammer/old time banjo, the wide rim is further complemented by the model's complimentary scooped fingerboard which allows the player to play above the fingerboard and gives the banjo a darker, fatter tone.
