Wow! This is one hell of a banjo. The Deering Twenty-Ten tone ring has a lot of qualities in its tone that a tubaphone tone ring does, but it seems to take it to a new level. This is the best tenor banjo that I have ever played, and I own and play Bacon & Day Silver Bells, vintage Vega tubaphones, Paramonts and others. I just love how this banjo has plenty of brightness, while maintaining tons of warmth.

Superb
The banjo is just what I needed. Dave Bandrowski recommended it when I was considering banjos that were too bright for my old ears. Glad I let his words sway me. It is definitely a keeper.
Happy I bought it
I'm enjoying my new Eagle II Tenor Banjo. It's been many years since I owned one and it felt good to get reacquainted with a tenor. I was curious about the smell it has. Not sure about that. I figure it will dissipate with some time and leaving the case open. I'm glad I made the purchase and will keep enjoying my new banjo. Thanks David for a pleasant experience.
Deering Eagle II 19-fret tenor
After a good deal of research, I narrowed my choices down to one of Deering's tenor banjos. David, at the Banjo Studio, was quick to answer my calls and questions and happy to let me come over and try them out. (Very nice guy, very knowledgeable about the products he sells, and wonderful musician.) The winner, for me, was the Deering Eagle II 19-fret tenor. Wow! Beautiful, beautiful sound and gorgeous-looking banjo. Very well balanced with exactly "the sound" I was searching for. I can't put it down!
