The dimensions of the Collings Guitars 001 MH are similar to the original design first introduced around the Civil War. The comfortable 12 Fret size and timeless appearance of the Collings 00 is matched by the ease of playing a wide neck and shorter string scale affords. The tone of a typical 00 is balanced and precise, and we've seen it adopted for a wide range of playing styles from the singer/songwriter fair to ragtime solos - but it really sings when used for fingerstyle.
Watch sideman and session guitarist extraordinaire Mark Goldenberg demonstrates his Collings OM2H and 001MH guitars below.

My first purchase from Banjo Studio was this stunning all-mahogany parlor guitar. The transaction was smooth as glass, and my latest Collings arrived securely packaged and in perfect condition. It was a pleasure doing business with Dave. The guitar itself exceeds all expectations, and this is not my first Collings parlor. The 1 13/16 neck adds just enough width to make it very comfortable, and when combined with the short scale and 4-inch body depth, it is a joy to play for hours on end. My right hand falls naturally over the sound hole as if they were made for each other. As a brand-new instrument it is hard to assess how it will sound in two or three years of daily playing, but it the mahogany top really gives this little beauty an unexpected depth and warmth that will only improve with age. Overall, a wonderful instrument from a really good dealer. I will definitely stop in the next time I'm in the Crescent City.
