Deering's most popular professional grade banjo for over 20 years now in maple and with a radiused fingerboard and Kavanjo banjo pickup.  This is a truly unique and special banjo..  Traditionally the Sierra has been made with a mahogany neck and resonator, but this model is made with a maple neck and resonator.  The maple neck gives the banjo a brighter, punchier sound that will cut right through the mix at a jam or onstage.  The brightness of maple gives you more of a traditional bluegrass banjo tone (Earl Scruggs played a maple banjo).

Greg Deering knows what it feels like to want a professional banjo and not be able to afford it, so this has become the flagship of their line. Deering makes the Sierra affordable and you get all the most important features that affect the tone and playability.

Features spikes in the 5th string at the 7th, 9th, and 10th frets!  Capo and change keys easily!
