The new Deering Artisan Goodtime Special openback banjos featuring the Midnight Maple fingerboard.
This banjo features the Goodtime Special tone ring and has more brightness and richness than it's brother without a tone ring - the Deering Artisan Gooditme banjo.
Geat sound.
I love playing this banjo. It has a great sound. It's beautiful and comfortable to play. I don't have bad thing to say about this instrument.
Great for any kind of music
Okay, if you want to play bluegrass in a live ensemble, you'll want the one with the resonator AND the tone ring. But for playing any kind of banjo solo or playing most patterns that involve strumming, including frailing, you'll love this one. The tone ring really helps the banjo ring, without the kind of excess sustain that a resonator would add. A very classic banjo sound, with a fantastic neck. It may be the last open-back banjo you ever need. - Paul Race, Creek Don't Rise
